In year 2015 I made two trips to Myanmar. One was to visit the iconic sites of Myanmar: Yangon, Inle Lake, Bagan, Mrauk U, etc. The second was traveling with a small band of photographers on an old refitted fishing boat down the Chindwin river from Homelin to Mandalay visiting remote villages along the river's shore, which seldom if ever, saw outsiders. The villages were mostly Burmese, with some Shan, Kachin, and Kayin and Naga people. We photographed as we visited farms, monasteries, temples, schools; ordinary daily lives. The people we met were mostly surprised, curious, welcoming and happy to see us.
